Double deal for Higuain and Paredes close, Morata set to leave

Double deal for Higuain and Paredes close, Morata set to leave

Who's heading to Chelsea and who's leaving?

Gonzalo Higuain declined to comment on reports of a move to Chelsea on his return to Italy in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Now Chelsea is set to confirm the loan transfer of Gonzalo Higuain, Morata has been given the green light by the Blues to finish his deal at Atletico.

Nevertheless, Maurizio Sarri is keen to work with the 31-year-old again and has convinced Chelsea's sceptical board to get the deal done.

Chelsea plan to rope in the player for the remainder of the season, with an option to extend the loan for another 12 months or buy him permanently.

Kalinic arrived at the Wanda Metropolitano from AC Milan in August in a deal worth €15 million (£13.3m/$17.1m) but has struggled to adapt to Diego Simeone's style in the Spanish capital.

Sarri managed Higuain during his first season at Napoli.

Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso confirmed it was a fever, not Higuain's possible departure, that kept him out of the XI for Wednesday's match against Juve. He said, "He still hasn't told me he wants to leave, I am still waiting".

According to Cadena Ser, Barcelona executives have mixed feelings about bringing the former Real Madrid player to Camp Nou but could discuss his potential signing in Tuesday's board meeting.

Milan want to act quickly as Higuain's transfer is in place and he is ready to fly to London to complete his move to Chelsea, though they do have Patrick Cutrone in reserve.

He has scored only six goals in 15 Serie A appearances this season, after netting 24 and 16 in his two seasons in Turin.
