Meghan Markle reveals royal baby due in April

But, during the couple's first official engagement of the year, the Duchess of Sussex was happy to chat to well wishers in Birkenhead about all things baby-related, and she gave them the hot-off-the-press exclusive.

As the birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's first child approaches, speculation continues to grow as to who the chosen godparents will be.

Meghan told Carla Gandy she was "six months" pregnant which suggested a due date of around April. A source said: "No one ever thought anything or anyone could break their special bond - then Meghan Markle came into the picture".

So when the royal baby - due in the United Kingdom spring - does arrive, our best guess is that Harry and Meghan will pick close friends such as George and Amal Clooney or Meghan's best friend, Jessica Mulroney and husband Ben Mulroney.

Meghan has told wellwishers in Birkenhead that she is six months pregnant - due end of April/beginning of May!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Birkenhead to celebrate the life of one of the town's most famous sons - the acclaimed First World War poet Wilfred Owen.

Well, Meghan is also in the dark when it comes to this aspect of her pregnancy, as she and Harry reportedly want it to be a surprise.

The bronze artwork by sculptor Jim Whelan has been named after Owen's poem Futility and shows an exhausted solider sat down with his head in his hands.

Meghan, 37, was dressed in a purple dress from Babaton by Aritzia, a cheery red coat from Sentaler and matching red Stuart Weitzman pumps. A group of friends stay at Anmer Hall, take part in a shoot and also attend church on Sunday with the Queen - who often hosts them for dinner at least once over the weekend.

Meghan Markle shared a sweet moment with a pregnant fan while out in Birkenhead, England, on Monday. Meghan said that they didn't know but added "we'll be thrilled with the outcome either way".
