Trump Goes Ballistic On Mueller: 'Absolutely Nuts'

President Trump on Thursday ripped into Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation, accusing investigators of having "gone absolutely nuts" and saying they are "a disgrace" to the country.

"The inner workings of the Mueller investigation are a total mess", Trump wrote in a series of tweets that got rolling Thursday morning. He added that the investigators are threatening Americans to provide the answers they want.

While the full scope of Mueller's investigation remains classified, Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed him in May 2017 to investigate allegations of collusion between Trump campaign associates and Russian Federation.

The US president has previously said the special counsel investigation led by Mr Mueller, who is a highly regarded former head of the FBI and a Republican, was unfair and dominated by "hardened Democrats".

Last week, Trump sacked his attorney general Jeff Sessions, replacing him with Matthew Whitaker, who is on the record as being harshly critical of the Mueller investigation.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has blocked consideration of bipartisan legislation that would guard against Trump ending Mueller's investigation.

Democrats and others fear Whitaker's appointment could jeopardize Mueller's probe of Russia's role in the 2016 US election.

Trump's latest attacks come as he and his lawyers put the finishing touches on their answers to a set of written questions from Mueller. A recent ABC News article reported that Mueller's interviews with Paul Manafort, Trump's ex-campaign chair who has pleaded guilty to federal crimes and is now cooperating with the special counsel, have grown increasingly tense.

US intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 election to help Trump by undermining Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

He then brought in reports of media bias among the major tech companies: "Check out how biased Facebook, Google and Twitter are in favor of the Democrats. OLC itself could uncover only one case in which an individual who wasn't Senate confirmed ever served as acting attorney general, and that was for six days in 1866-the year after the Civil War ended, four years before the Justice Department's founding and a century before the DOJ succession law was enacted", the legislators continue.

"I have confidence that acting Attorney General Whitaker will carry out the functions of the Justice Department to the best of his abilities". They must continue, even if they implicate persons or institutions connected to the President, to his campaign, or to his businesses.

US President Donald Trump lashed out on Twitter once again over the investigation.
