Houston Rockets considering cutting Carmelo Anthony, though GM calls reports 'unfair'

Which is why the Rockets are reportedly considering Anthony's future with the team.

Wojnarowski says that the Rockets and Anthony are "discussing his role" in an attempt to evaluate whether they will be able to "proceed together" moving forward. The 34-year-old has averaged a career-low 13.4 points per game, and that's not only because of his limited minutes. He has struggled this season and did not do much last season with the Thunder after the Knicks traded him to Oklahoma City.

The news of Anthony's potential departure comes after ESPN reported the Rockets were already having discussions with the former All-Star about his role on the team.

"We're struggling as a team, and it's my job, it's Coach's job to figure this thing out".

It's starting to look like Anthony's days in Houston are numbered.

If he clears waivers, Anthony would be free to sign with any team that wants him, and you'd figure the National Basketball Association isn't out of such teams just yet.

Rockets star James Harden said he didn't have enough information to comment about Anthony's situation after Houston's 115-103 win over the Pacers.

"I know that we're talking about everything", he said.

The Rockets are off to a 4-7 start, and Anthony is playing at a career-worst efficiency rate. When asked about that report before Sunday night's game, Morey said: "that's inaccurate". That's me saying that and knowing that.

However, Anthony and the Rockets are off to a rough start. "Like I said, we'll see what happens". "I understand it, because he's obviously a Hall of Famer, but it's unfair".
