Mueller: Women Were Offered Money to Smear Me

Mueller: Women Were Offered Money to Smear Me

Mueller is now investigating allegations of collusion between Trump campaign associates and Russian Federation.

The odd sequence of events began about two weeks ago, when an email account ostensibly belonging to a Florida woman began contacting reporters claiming that a mysterious individual had offered her money to say Mueller had behaved inappropriately when they worked together in the 1970s. The reporters then contacted the special counsel's office to report that they had been approached about the scheme.

The special counsel's office has referred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation allegations that women were offered money to falsely accuse Robert Mueller of sexual harassment.

Around the same time, Jack Burkman, a Republican lobbyist and media personality, began talking about the allegations.

The woman's email, which was screen-grabbed and posted on social media by several journalists, states someone identifying himself as Bill Christensen recently called and asked her questions about Mueller, whom she said she worked for as a paralegal at the San Francisco offices of law firm Pillsbury, Winthrop, Shaw & Pittman in the 1970s.

"I didn't see Robert Mueller very much when I worked at Pillsbury, but when I did see him, he was always very polite to me, and was never inappropriate", she said. He also refused to say whether Wohl or the bogus private intel firm Wohl apparently set up was working with him - claiming that he "can't comment on staff or subcontractors". In an email, the company offered her compensation for her time to give anything she may have had on Mueller.

According to multiple reports, a woman claims to have been offered $20,000 to make false accusations of sexual misconduct and workplace harassment against Robert Mueller.

Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl, who both were hyping the allegations earlier this week, did an interview with the far-right website Gateway Pundit Wednesday in which they claimed that their "accuser", after arriving in D.C., boarded a flight to another location as she feared for her life. However, his email is listed in the domain records for Surefire Intelligence's website and calls to a number listed on the Surefire Intelligence website went to a voicemail message which provided another phone number, listed in public records as belonging to Wohl's mother.

Although it's unclear whether "Lorraine" actually exists, another woman named Jennifer Taub told the Atlantic that she had also been contacted by a man claiming to be from Surefire Intelligence called Simon Frick who fished about non-existent "past encounters" she had had with Mr Mueller, teasing payment.

Despite the incriminating links, Jacob Wohl has denied all knowledge of involvement - tweeting that the mainstream media were spinning "FAKE NEWS" to "protect the Mueller witch hunt".

The article included partly redacted documents that appeared to be from a mysterious firm known as "Surefire Intelligence".

"I have a signed dossier from her", Burkman claimed.
