Of Windows And Kings: The Case For Boston To Sign LeBron James

The Lakers were long seen as a destination this summer for James and Paul George, but it no longer seems to be a sure bet that George opts out of his contract with the Thunder by Friday.

The Cavaliers have been working on several trade and salary-cap-clearing possibilities to be aggressive in free agency, but they have been stymied in attempts to meet or discuss scenarios with James, league sources said.

No, James and his legions of fans throughout OH will have to make those decisions on their own.

According to a new report by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst, Boston has sent another trade offer to the San Antonio Spurs for their disgruntled superstar.

With the Lakers and Spurs now engaging in talks, ESPN reported that the Spurs are hoping to get a package for Leonard that's greater than what the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers got for Kyrie Irving and George last summer, respectively.

That point was hammered home even more during the All-Star Game when James selected Irving to play for his team during the first-ever draft. They're doing enough research to suggest that he's going to be willing to take that plunge and let the roster come together. Both players have been rumored to be interested in leaving their current teams, while there have also been reports that they are strongly considering staying with those teams.

It looks as if the mooted sequel to Space Jam is potentially edging forward later this year, with basketball star LeBron James still very much at the heart of the project. The team did not make a hard push to trade for him previous year because of that thought, which could now backfire in more ways than one.

The Lakers are trying to pry Kawhi Leonard from the Spurs in order to attract LeBron James and maybe Paul George.

Momentum has been building for a while now for LeBron James to go to Los Angeles. Magic Johnson and the Lakers have put themselves in a position to sign two and possibly acquire a third max contract.
